THATKIDSAM: Man! My mouth tastes like... Keith Courage!

Dear Sam,
Since you're such a good mechanic, don't
you have a rival? Tell us about him!

-Bob Mannings, Quebec

THATKIDSAM: Well, if you're talking about my mechanic skill, I don't have a rival. I'm simply the best mechanic in all of Free Country. Bubs challenged me to, um, a mech... duel... But I beat him anyway.

{Flashback. Thatkidsam and Bubs are building mechanical monsters. Thatkidsam made a huge robot Icreature, and Bubs made a really big car.}

THATKIDSAM: It's settled! I am better than you! Now, let me just burninate your car... {Robot Icreature destroys the car with a laser.}

{Cut back to present times.}

THATKIDSAM: But there is one person that rivals me in video game playing. It is... {Grumbles loudly} Lawrence! Darn that Lawrence! I'm gonna go prove that I am the best player ever... Time for a contest! {Gets up}

{Cut to Club Technochocolate. Lights are flashing, and there is a HUGE TV screen on the wall. The Announcer is announcing the tournament to people such as Homeschool Winner, the Unnamed Girl, and some Fashionmore Henchmen.}

THE ANNOUNCER: Welcome everyone to the Super N Game Tournament! Our two final contestants are ready to face off in the ultimate duel! Please welcome back... Thatkidsam and Lawrence!

{The audience cheers.}

THATKIDSAM: Lawrence, this is it! Prepare to be smashed!

LAWRENCE: With what? Your daggers that you don't have anymore?

THATKIDSAM: Dragh- Argh- You just wait!

{The screen turns on. A cube unfolds into a Z, and a fanfare plays. An ominous voice says "MELEE!!!" very loudly, and a window is heard breaking.}

LAWRENCE: Hah! I just played this game yesterday.

THATKIDSAM: What!? I can't win a game that I haven't played!

{Two people with swords appear. The one with red hair quickly knocks the blue-haired one off a cliff. A screen labeled "HA HA. THE GUY THAT USED TO HAVE TWO BELTS LOSES." The entire audience laughs.}

LAWRENCE: I didn't think it would be that easy. I mean, I knew it would be easy, but it's like you didn't even try! HA HA HA {cough} HA!

{Cut back to Thatkidsam answering the email.}

THATKIDSAM: I'LL GET YOU LAWRENCE!!! Quick, Icreature! Morph into a viking helmet!

ICREATURE: (You got it!) {Lands on Thatkidsam's head and squashes himself onto his head}

{Several Turbo Grafx U-Cards line up at the top of the screen displaying the message "Click Here to E-Mail Thatkidsam @ [email protected]"}

ICREATURE: Ow! What is that guy wearing, armor!?

LAWRENCE: Yup. {Takes off shirt to reveal a full suit of blue armor}

Author's Comments

  • Rating: C
  • Lawrence's introduction is important, but this is the point where the emails start to get a bit rushed. I liked the SSBM reference, though. And Keith Courage is never bad.
