WUW talk:Deletion Reasons
yeah okay Lex 15:11, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
- It is kind of sad, because it took me so long to write those emails, but I've been meaning to start my user over, so it's a mixed blessing. Miss Peach
I doubt you're actually going to delete the wiki, but I'm making an archive just in case. 18:03, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
I've already put my thoughts on this on my userpage (which, in a nutshell, is "well I was too late but oh well it's not that important"), but I have a question: Was there actually any new quality work being made in the later days of the wiki that wasn't meant to criticize others or to be purposely bad? It seems that everyone who could make quality work didn't take it seriously or left, and the only ones serious about making fanstuffs always ended up making them terrible. Was there any intentional, non-jokingly-made quality? No sarcastic answers, please. Monochrome 19:01, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
- Well, there was Conchris's email show, and the SkullB show. A few others too.. Lex 19:27, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
- If I remember correctly, those ended up cancelled. (If I am wrong feel free to correct me.) Was there anything ongoing (not counting those that stopped because the WUW was ending), or any one-shots that were good? Later-day ones, specifically. Monochrome 19:57, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
- There was also Ethan and Dolan and Airstriker, but that's just about it. 20:03, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
- later-day ones Flubber 20:07, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
- Mystery Fanstuff Theater 3000, which drew inspiration from crappy fanstuff.. It's early, but ongoing. Lex 20:12, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, that's the only derivative of the "hey let's make fun of stupid stuff" on the WUW that ever actually worked, in my opinion. I wouldn't qualify it as meeting the guidelines I put up above, though, since it's still aimed on criticizing others. I'd still like to know if any quality, newer works come to mind, to see if this almost entirely negative era has some redeeming qualities. Monochrome 20:37, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

My art puts a humorous spin on the wuw community and... well jaro emails are more of a fanstuff thing -- NachoTalk 20:57, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
- NachoMan's User Art is great, as is anything Dinoshaur made. Doggie Emails will always be my finest work TheCheesegayNachoTalk 21:00, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
- GAME 1, ROBUTTNIKS MEAN BEAN MACHEAN, WUW Edition!, NUCLEAR NOID AND THE ARMAGEDDON TEAM, The Bluebry Show. — ChwokaTalk
- I said I was looking for serious answers. I've already seen a lot of the works in question and I can see the sarcasm dripping from your statements. Somebody get a towel. Monochrome 21:37, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
- I wasn't being sarcastic. I'm really proud of those things. — ChwokaTalk
- I was speaking about all of you in general (well, the three of you above), but the first two are intentionally bad, and the rest are just tired concepts repeating themselves. As for NachoMan and TheCheese's reccomendations, they are also lacking (except for Jaro Emails, but as said before it's better suited for the Fanstuff Wiki). I want to see something that all of us can enjoy, not just the long-timers that have built a culture around inside jokes. Monochrome 22:00, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
- Hey yo buttnik machine and nuclear noid are good and clever may I point this out --Dinoshaur gaycm 23:33, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
- the bluebry show isn't dripping with sarcasm, just my own depression with people in this world. see The Bluebry Show/7 yup 04:36, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
- The problem with the ones Dinoshaur mentioned are that the first is purposely attempting to be awful and the second is parodizing something I don't even know. The Bluebry Show is simply yet another fanstuff where scenes are just entirely made to show situations you hate. I mean, if it was written better and funnier, a show like that could easily take off, but it just is too obvious that it was made only to complain. Monochrome 07:30, 3 January 2010 (UTC)

hey, once fanstuff is up, we can't make user fanstuff, so we need this wiki Brerose 23:26, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
- Or, we could make a show starring or involving our user character, and use homestar characters alongside them. Thats how my emails started. Miss Peach
{shrugs}
I foresaw this in a dream. Quite honestly, I'm incredibly happy with your decision. Now thou can chooseth between a mountain bike or a PS3. Noxigar 01:12, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
- Honestly if it was up to me I would like to keep this place around, since it's entertaining, and making joke fanstuff is always fun, but hey so it goes. Also Monochrome all choom fanstuff is good fanstuff. TheCheesegayNachoTalk 03:34, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
- It may be to you, but you need to see it from a normal person's point of view. About half of the humor at least is consisted of inside jokes in most of the fanstuffs you guys make, but even if a normal reader caught on to the fact that they were jokes, they would find them to grow old very quickly. Or, at least, I did. Monochrome 07:30, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
if anybody still wants a social wiki im trying to make one! the only problem is the wiki will probably suck but whatever -tdoyle.me
- How about a wiki that would simply be the way the WUW was originally intended to be: a place to make fanstuffs about wiki users and their characters? From the way you're wording it, it sounds like a wiki made just for social interaction, correct me if I'm wrong. Monochrome 07:30, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
- I could download mediawiki, and make a wiki. Brerose 07:32, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
- Assuming you know how to use it and can find a host (or host it yourself, if possible), I'd say go for it. So long as you don't forget about it two days after making it. Monochrome 07:41, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
- Wait, hold it. I poked into the forums and saw that the new wiki is apparantly a direct copy (can't tell, I can't access it). So until further word from Girrbyte, you should probably drop your plans. Monochrome 07:53, 3 January 2010 (UTC)

Part of the reason the WUW "took off" was becuase I hosted it and maintained it. Previous to me doing that pretty much all other attempts were a complete failure. I'm not saying it can't be done useless but the bar is set very high. - Super Sam 08:56, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
- the URL to the wiki I'm working on is located at http://wiki.stickybomb.org/index.php/Main_Page any help on special pages would be appreciated, also the name might be changed if the community wishes for something more serious -tdoyle.me
- Is it open to editing yet? If so, I could probably help a bit. I'm noticing, though, that pages with the prefix of "SUW:" are treated as normal pages. Have you found the reason for this? Monochrome 17:06, 3 January 2010 (UTC)

Ewiki is not a copy! Brerose 21:04, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
- i agree it's not a copy
I for one, am not against this, because I agree, most of the WUW sucks. However, though I hated how it used to be, I still want to back up Aruseus Emails and TDIBPE because, sure, those were crap, but they were good crap, in a way. Like they sucked, but are worthy of saving. Maybe there's a way Sam can back those up, like he did with the GGB? Lucian Summers 21:22, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
Wow...
I didn't know this was going to happen when I wrote that we should delete it on my page! I assume that this isn't entirely because of me... --ALXXMaXX 23:46, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
If anybody has noticed
ive created a wiki dedicated to User Fanstuff and archiving your older stuff http://wiki.stickybomb.org/index.php/Main_Page -tdoyle.me

Archive
I tried to export all the pages into an archive, but either the Export or the Import screwed up, I'm not sure, but the small filesizes the Export gave me was strange, but I didn't think it would neglect half of the pages. So, I'm temporarily opening the archive up for editing. I've manged to recover a few pages, but tt's up to you guys to get the rest in the day we have left.
And know that the Archive is not meant to replace girrbyte's wiki. I just wanted new users to be able to look back at what we did during the HRFWiki's unavailability and maybe get a laugh or two out of it, something I should have done with the old HRFWiki.
