WUW:Getting Started

So you desire to be a part of the Wiki User Wiki, but don't know where to start? It's alright, we've all been down that road. Here's a handy guide to making your start.

What do we accept?

We'll accept just about anyone, artists, musicians, game designers, writers, this is merely a social wiki with some opportunities to make your own stuff.

Why do I have to register on the forum?

We had a massive spambot attack one year, where a bunch of new accounts popped up, only to be vandals and trolls. For security purposes, we disabled any users who aren't logged in from editing and making new accounts. Only registered forum users who post a thread requesting a new account will eventually become approved by Super Sam and he will make a new account for you.

Do I have to continue using the forum?

Nope! You can leave your forum account to die if you'd like.

"Dirty thirdies?" What?

Oh, that's old lingo from about 2007-2009. it is now hip and retro so call everyone a dirty thirdie, dont worry i saw it on hipster runoff so its cool

So "Wiki User Wiki?" Does that mean it has to be about the users?

Originally, yes, but under new management, you're free to write what you like. Just keep it tasteful, and make sure you follow the rules.

I don't like my username! What do I do?

Ask a moderator to change it. Not many of the moderators are active, so check recent changes for a good idea on who is currently active. Just don't change your name too much, I've been down that road long enough...

I don't like this old page. Can I delete it?

Type:

{{Delete|your reason}}

At the top of your desired page, and a moderator will come delete it for you. There's also an option for people to un-delete, in case you change your mind.

Why are there so many references to communism?

It's an old joke. Don't worry about it.

So where do I go from here?

Why not get started by editing your user page? Tell us about yourself, post what you'd like to write, etc. Then, once you learn the ropes, go out and contribute! We've been through a lot, and there's a lot of aged, old fanstuff lurking about. However, it'll help to get this Wiki back on its feet by contributing new things.
