Space-Aged Catastrophe is proposed spin-off "movie" of Space-Aged Stupidity. This is still in the works and it is currently unknown if it will ever develop into anything real.

Overview

Prologue:

50 years after the events of Space-Aged Stupidity, Captain Sephiroth makes a decision that, because the LeviathanX is growing out of date and into disrepair and he and his crew are being overshadowed by newer, younger members of the space fleet the crew of the LeviathanX will be disbanded and the ship will be decommissioned and left at a ship graveyard. After the captain dropped off his crew at their home planets he took the ship for it's last trip to the ship graveyard. Upon arriving he discovered a problem. The robots on the ship were designed to only operate on the Leviathan. Sephiroth, ignoring the begging from the robots and believing what he was doing was for the best, put the robots into attaches the robots to stasis cables and powered down them and the ship for good.

Main story:

100 years after the decommissioning of the LeviathanX, Sephiroth(who is still alive) decided to return to the ship graveyard and visit his once beloved ship. Upon arrival he discovered that the ship is rusted, dilapidated and overgrown from the hundred years of dis-use. He eventually discovers a way into the ship, and discovers the interior, while still destroyed and dilapidated, is in a much better state of preservation than the exterior. after a short amount of exploring, the former captain makes his way to the control room, where the now rusting, lifeless shells of the ship's robots still rest, attached to their stasis cables. without thinking, Sephiroth leans against one of the ship's control panels. Suddenly, the ship begins rumbling, lights flicker, the old electric cables crackle, and the ship's main computer re-activates for the first time in 100 years. Seph, now attempting to override the ship's reboot, typing random passwords into the broken keypads, hears the sound of the control room's rusted doors grind shut behind him, followed by a familiar voice.

The robots, angry with Seph's final decision to shut them down, attempt to kill him, and end up chasing him through the ship's ruined halls. He eventually escapes the chase by falling through a broken section of floor and into the old pub, but the robots activate an emergency repair system on board, meant to restore the ship to working order in the event of an emergency. Most of the broken walls, floors and ceilings repair themselves, and the ship's intercom and surveillance systems go back online, allowing the robots to track Seph where ever he is.

Now the captain is trapped within the rotting remains of his old spaceship, trying to escape while at the mercy of the robots he had abandoned long ago.

Other Notes:

  • Possible Return of Neoptrs
  • Possible Return of SETH-1-RO7H
  • Ship may eventually be launched into space
  • Seph sends out SOS calls while hiding from bots
  • Other former crew members may show up to help Seph in later parts.
  • One of the bots (most likely BR-621) will side with Seph in later parts.

Excerpt

[This isn't an excerpt from the final story, but an excerpt from a very early draft I had written by myself a while ago. This is only here to give an example of how the final may play out.]

{Sephiroth begins typing wildly at the broken keypad as the ship's reboot continues}

SEPHIROTH: Come on! Why isn't this doing anything! Abort dang it!

COMPUTER: System reboot completed.

SEPHIROTH: Why won't this power down!

{The sound of rusted metal doors sliding shut can be heard from behind Sephiroth, followed by a sound like that of metal shoes walking on a metal surface.}

SEPHIROTH: What the...?

{Sephiroth spins around to show K-Bot looking darkly at him. GR-01 and B-621 are standing behind him looking equally displeased and aiming their lasers at him}

K-BOT HR'D: It's been a long time. How have you been? We've been really busy being dead. You know, after you murdered us?

SEPHIROTH: Look guys, I'm sorry for what I did, but there was really nothing more I could do at that time...

GR-01: You're a dirty liar! You didn't even look for another solution!

SEPHIROTH: I thought what I was doing was for the best...

B-621: Yeah, just like how you thought letting SETH-1-RO7H replace you as captain was for the best. Or how you thought letting Chaos distribute those Neoptrs to everyone was a smart idea. Or how about those beat-em-up tickets you bought?

GR-01: I would have thought that by that time you would know that your first instinct is not the best idea. But now it looks like this time you're gonna pay the ultimate price for your stupidity.

  • There will be many references to Portal on my part throughout the story, with K-Bot often quoting GLaDOS.
