For the last span of time since I last saw you, I've been watching rent nonstop every single day. For those who don't know about it, it's a movie set at the end of the '80's, and primarily revolves around these 2 guys; One's writing a story, the other's writing a song. Just before Christmas, they get an eviction notice, as well as the entire block that they live on, and they blow it off(for the 5th or 6th year), and the owner, Benjamin Poppin III, referred to as Benny, comes and tries to talk to the 2 men, who have ownership rights because Benny left. Benny wants to knock them all off of the block, and they refuse. Amidst all of this, one of the men, Roger, apparently has AIDS, and a girlfriend who died of AIDs, but then he finds another girlfriend with AIDs, who's also addicted to smack, and constantly pulls her in and pushes her away. Another one of their roomates, Collins, falls into a homosexual relationship with Angel Dunat-Chunard, a drag queen, or more simply, a cross-dressing male, and tries to hold on to him. Speaking of Homosexual couples, there's another one, Maurine and Joanne, who put on a protest to save their (old) block, and during the movie, Roger's new girlfriend cheats on him with Benny, Angel ends up dying, Roger moves away, comes back with a song, and they all live happily ever after...with AIDS. It's a good movie overall, and I'm overly-fond of their mid-point song, Viva La Vie Bohemme, and I probably will always love it.
