A little about D'arque and Droll

D'arque is a character more akin to The Emcee from Cabaret, albeit more demanding when it comes to the thrill of performing. Droll is his short and punctual servant that solves his problems for him when they become too difficult. He's less of the straight talking asshole sidekick and more of the "I do this because I enjoy it" guy. He likes his job, he just doesn't know how D'arque will react to anything. Ever.

Try not to write for them as much, if you can, but feel free to do so if you find the need. Also, take the plot and twist and turn it as much as you want/can. I just threw in some Zombie dancers for dramatic effect. They call me Big T BLOOD 23:12, 6 November 2011 (UTC)

Oiracul

Was one of the best character concepts I've ever made. I'm not sure whether rewriting him/her will be as easy, though. Noxigar 00:37, 7 November 2011 (UTC)

Honestly? I think Oiracul is a little mom and pop. Maybe it's just because werewolves don't really hold such a place of importance in post contemporary comedy. It's kind of either an unnecessary characteristic, or some vaguely pointless fluff. They call me Big T BLOOD 02:35, 7 November 2011 (UTC)

Very well. I'm primarily remembering how funny some things are for irony purposes which have werewolves in it (the current Metagame in Magic: the Gathering courtesy of the Innistrad block). I guess vague pointlessness is a problem. Noxigar 02:39, 7 November 2011 (UTC)

Well, I just don't remember Oiracul being a werewolf as a strong selling point of the character. However, now that I think about it, a shapeshifter actually sounds kind of cool. So that's nothing as hard as saying "Shapeshifter" where you want to say "Werewolf" and expanding the use of his powers will probably spice the character up in the right direction. I feel like this episode is going to be mad short

I kind of really, really, REALLY don't want to delve into such an idea of using outside characters like famous properties of others unless for comedic purposes, and it kind of inspires the same tapering-off that the old Wikihood had that oft made it fall into disrepair. Excellent.

I quite enjoyed that ending (mostly because i wasn't the one who was arrested lolol), but that revelation about Debonair being the oldest citizen, and his family having control over the town... It gave me some kind of idea. Seeing as you've pretty much set him up to be a reoccurring character, wouldn't it be kind of cool for there to be another family to rival that of the D'Arques? Like one that's situated in another town, (or city, perhaps, how I would imagine) and has a long history of conflict with them? (politically and idealogy, of course, dealing with gentlemen and all that.) I actually have a much more specific plan, but I want to see if you're cool with the outline before I reveal it. Thanks, I thought that Town Hall thing up weeks ago and have been waiting to reveal it. Feel free to challenge the D'Arques with a rival family. I'm actually floating on the idea of making more undead members of the family that perhaps could be part of the tension, that they won't let the goddamn family die out, I'd love to see something like that. Well, not so much a family in particular, than a man and his family company.

Edwin J. Rosenberg, born in 1912 in Nevada to a wealthy oil baron. He inherited the company at a young age due to the untimely and mysterious death of his father. After coming out of university in 1933, he took his wealth to Listless, America, where he settled down into a small mining town. Rosenberg took control of this town not long after, using his wealth and influence to rig the elections, allowing him to expand on it as he pleased. Over a period of 20 years, he had transformed the small mining town into a small, yet booming city. Using the city of Las Vegas as his influence, he founded a chain of casinos which made him even richer. He had a complete grasp on the city, holding favour with the townspeople by exploiting their vices.

He had become somewhat of a celebrity, mostly due to his eccentric behaviour. During his later years, he became a recluse, rarely ever being seen in public, yet still ruling the city (Which had pretty much became a dictatorship of sorts) behind closed doors. It was speculated that the man had a variety of mental disorders, such as agoraphobia and hypochondria which caused his kind of behaviour. But over time, people heard less and less about him, and speculated more and more, as he eventually disappeared from the public eye altogether. By this time (1984), it was basically assumed that he had just died, and due to the high amount of security in his headquarters, nobody confirmed it.

The truth is, like Debonair D'Arque, who had preserved himself by employing the use of the supernatural, Mr. Rosenberg had prevented his death through the use of technology, having his brain removed from his body and hooked up to a super computer, where he runs both the city and his company behind his scenes, while also running some kind of underground scheme, that's unknown to most people.

He happens to be an expert in robotics and science, using his knowledge to his personal advantage. He has some history with Debonair and his family, with the two encountering each other many times while alive. Both have an equal amount of animosity to each other, considering themselves to be the superior mind. As a result, they've been running a campaign of hatred against each other, trying to destroy the other simply so they can prove that they are better.

This is just my outline, as it's bound to change somehow. I based his backstory and personality on Howard Hughes, and also used inspiration from Mr. House and Professor Calbert from Fallout to create his character. So, what do you think? Lex 22:25, 16 December 2011 (UTC)

Oh, and I should add that he does have an assistant besides his many robots. A young British-Chinese woman who goes by the name of "Leung". Loyal to Rosenberg, she works as his sidekick of sorts. Despite her loyalty and trust, she's not above the occasional cynical remark towards her boss. Not much is known about her life story, as she refuses to talk about it. I like it. A lot. We can probably cram in the parallels between D'Arque and Rosenburg to make it stand out. The next episode will probably come slowly, because I want to actually do that rewrite I promised I'd work on, because I have a lot of ideas now. Awesome. I'd rather not introduce him until the fourth or fifth episode, but that seems to be the plan anyway, so that's alright. And storywise, I think that we should portray the start of their rivalry as being something incredibly trivial, which ended up escalating into the warzone we have in modern days.
