I loved that game so damn much when I was little. Yet I never beat Gruntilda. Neither did my dad. And now its been YEARS and my N64 is gone. AND I NEVER EVEN BEAT GRUNTY. I'm so ashamed... -- Badstar

No, it's because I don't like being hit by a ton of unavoidable items at once. I can do a race and make no mistakes, but end up in last because of how cheap the items are (Such as getting hit by a Blue Shell, then a red one, then get zapped by lightning and then get hit by a POW block. I'm in first, but now I'm in last because of all of these items and it happens far too often). That makes the game based more on luck than skill and that is why I think MKW stinks. -- KickCheat

A lot of people say that, but these instances with the barrages of items thrown at you happen so infrequently that it's really blown out of proportion. There is a level of skill required to dodge and recover from the items. -- Nacho^Talk 20:18, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, I know it requires skill to dodge the items and usually, I can dodge a red shell and a POW block just fine, but then the Blue Shell hits me and I don't have a mushroom to dodge it. Usually, if I'm on the first or second lap, I can recover, but stuff like this happens to me on the last lap. That and the game never gives me good items when I'm in a bad place. I guess the game has a grudge against me. -- KickCheat
