TheDenzel's Interview With Strong Devon

THEDENZEL: Hello, viewers! Welcome to the first interview ever for The Awesome Times. In this issue, I will be interviewing Strong Devon. Glad to have you here, Strong Devon.

SD: Glad to be here Denzel.

THEDENZEL: Um... It's THEDenzel. Anyway, let's start with some of your fanstuff. {Searches through Wiki} Let's see. Ooh! You are the creator of Devon.com and Fake Character Email Devon, what's that been like?

SD: It's been a real cool experience, and it seems they are both getting more popular by the hour. In fact, I just checked a little while ago and say that DevonM.com has had almost 17,000 hits.

THEDENZEL: Wow! I have to say that I'm not that surprised though! I've been a fan of of Devon.com myself. When did you decide to create your own flash cartoon?

SD: In right about now a year ago. I'd just discovered the H*R Wiki, and found out what TBC uses to create toons. Then I wanted it, and my dad borrowed a laptop from a friend with Flash 5 on it, and I was hooked. That's when I first made Crazy4stuff.com.

THEDENZEL: Cool, cool. I've noticed that you have an ongoing trend with "The Ball Stops Rolling." You even made a game off of it! Where'd you get that idea?

SD: I really have no idea. I think I must've been looking at my sister playing with a ball and just thought to myself, "Hey, I could make a toon out of that!" But i never thought it would blossom to be a running gag. People seem to like it, so I'll probably keep making them if I can.

THEDENZEL: Yah. I myself am a big fan of the game. Let's talk about that for a bit. How long did it take you to make it?

SD: Ummmm...not that long. I actually purchased a tutorial about making side scrollers at cartoon smart.com, and it came with some sample .flas...I just basically edited the symbols and some graphics and stuff and wham, instant game...but I will tell you as I've told many people that it's just a preview of the REAL game...which should hopefully come out by this fall.

THEDENZEL: Well, that's good. I can't wait for level 3 to come out. Anything you can tell us about the real game, before it comes out. Anything different?

SD: Definetely...this game will be made from scratch, And will parody Stinkoman 20X6 more than it does already. It'll have cutscenes, cooler enemies, and every level will be parodying the same level on 20X6.

THEDENZEL: That's sounds pretty cool. Say, about the store on your website. Is their really gonna be one?

SD: Yes. Yes yes yes yes. It is. But it'll take a while to figure out merchandise to sell.

THEDENZEL: I've noticed that in a few of your cartoons, there's guitar playing. Can you play guitar in real life?

SD: Yep...and that's me playing in all of those.

THEDENZEL: How long have you been playing?

SD: Since I was about 9.

THEDENZEL: Wow! 3 years! Now, I noticed that in one cartoon, Homestar is singing "Time Of Your Life." Isn't that a song by Green Day?

SD: Yes. In fact, "Good Riddance/Time of Your Life" (Green Day, nimrod., 1997) is one of my favorite songs, and my favorite by Green Day.

THEDENZEL: Well, you can play it pretty well. When did you record that song for the toon?

SD: Last....fall. When I was making Dumbstar Runner numero uno.

THEDENZEL: Speaking of, numero uno. What's up with numero two? It doesn't work! The anticipation is killing me!!! AHHHHH! {calms down} Well?

SD: That's a glitch I keep wanting to get to but don't have time to get to. When Crazy4stuff switched servers, I made this because I was almost done with that toon. Well...I'm still almost done with that toon. In fact, #2 hasn't changed a keyframe since late November.

THEDENZEL: Aww c'mon, man! Get that published! Anyway, any really new things that we can look forward too? Like, anything completely new? Maybe a new running gag?

SD: I probably shouldn't reveal this, but when the new toon comes out on Tues., there hopefully will be a good running gag established.

THEDENZEL: Any chance of finding out before tuesday. I don't think I could wait two days! C'mon, just between you an me... and the entire Homestar Runner Fanstuff Wiki.

SD: All I'm gonna say is cereal, and parody of Fluffy Puff Marshmallows.

THEDENZEL: My brain is full of ideas! {To himself} Note to self: Check Out DevonM.com on tuesday. {Back To Strong Devon} Well, we're almost out of time here. Anything you'd like to say to the audience before we close?

SD: Nothing much. Just basically, Check out DevonM.com tuesdays, email Devon, and tell all your friends!

THEDENZEL: There you have it folks. Strong Devon. Thanks for stoppin' by Strong Devon!

SD: Thanks for havin me, Jay.

THEDENZEL: Jay? I'm TheDenzel!

SD: What? Isn't this the tonight show?

THEDENZEL: Nope. This is TheDenzel's Interview Show! Somebody needs to get their head examined!

SD: LOL. Thanks for talking to me.

THEDENZEL: Any time, Strong Devon. {Shakes Strong Devon's Hand} See everyone on the next interview!
