:::Oh, of course. I see what you mean. Yeah, neutrality for the sake of neutrality wouldn't work well either, I agree. All of our characters have vices
Chaos has his pipe, Noxigar has his cigars(and his crazy), and Lex is an alcoholic. While these are kind of cliched archetypes for us to portray, I like how we each have one.
It makes the series clean. They call me Big T BLOOD 01:12, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, it's much better than Redux, where:
- Chaos: SUPER POWERFUL DEMON WHO IS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT
- Noxigar: SUPER KILLED NOBODY WHO IS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT
- Sephiroth: SUPERMAN RIPOFF WHO CAN REVIVE HIMSELF WHO IS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT
Lex 11:46, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
- Chaos: blatant disgregard of authoritah
- Noxigar: lack of a pathos and constant self-alienation therefrom
- Lex: I actually cannot find a proper vice for Lex's character. Unless you count excess cursing... Noxigar 20:42, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
- Um... He's a notorious womanizer, having numerous illegitimate children from women he's slept with throughout the years. He hasn't met any of them. Lex 21:02, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
- Chaos has more of a brash sense of realism that interferes with Noxigar's alienation and Lex's womanizing as much as possible. They call me Big T BLOOD 04:18, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
- A womanising alcoholic. Add that with his nostalgic personality, and we've pretty much got ourselves a Dean Martin wannabe. Lex 10:27, 8 December 2011 (UTC)

Now I need a vice, so I don't get left out and all... Oh well, I still have flaws, right? talk 02:48, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
Just a silly question
But do you have any particular voice "headcanons" for these characters? Like when you read them, do you imagine them with any particular voice? Just out of curiosity, I mean. Lex 02:33, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
- Your Homestuck obsession has obviously sparked this hasn't it They call me Big T BLOOD 22:06, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
- yes
- yes it has Lex 01:19, 12 December 2012 (UTC)
- Well, I do imagine the main cast being voiced by their respective users(so you for Lex, myself for Chaos, etc.) and off characters like Droll and Rosenberg are simply given borderline generic voices. For example, I totally imagine Droll to sound like Gambit from the '90's X-Men cartoon.
Can we eliminate neutral characters?
I understand it kind of takes away from certain characters, but I think all the characters in the series should have some ethical alignment - I don't mean D&D alignments, I just want to make sure every character has a purpose - even the hired help and the mercenaries. Even though some characters will at times have neutrality about them, I would prefer to make sure every character takes into consideration lifegoals. Usually I wouldn't care, but it makes it better for purposes of writing, because it's easy to write for a character who simply does nothing that could potentially conflict with interests of good and evil - that is to say, it makes the characters kind of boring.
You know? They call me Big T BLOOD 02:59, 20 December 2012 (UTC)
- I understand where you're coming from, and I'll gladly comply. It's just well.. I wouldn't particularly call Rosenberg and his crew "heroes", considering how he's really just looking out for his own interests before everyone elses. I guess the fact that he's against D'Arque in general would make him slightly more heroic, he's not particularly outstanding on the moral scale either. Hmm, I guess we would do that though, because considering his association with the main characters, you could technically call him a protagonist. Alright. Lex 03:07, 20 December 2012 (UTC)
- I mean, I always thought he was in the game for the same reasons as D'Arque, he just values the wikihood crew more than D'Arque because the living are far beyond his concerns. I guess keeping neutral characters is fine, but make sure every character has a bend to them - I don't just want purely neutral characters. They call me Big T BLOOD 03:12, 20 December 2012 (UTC)
Ultimate Question
Do you think Vindi would be a minor character, because he has had no lines and up until now, has had minimal plot interaction? Or does he deserve his own character page now that we've taken a good chunk of his character and fleshed it out? They call me Big T BLOOD 04:53, 22 December 2012 (UTC)
