Xavier Damien D'Arque is a politician who is running a Senatorial campaign for the state of Republic Island on behalf of the Democratic Party. Xavier is fresh-faced, physically fit, and progressive, which gives him a large amount of support among the state populace. As a member of the D'Arque family dynasty, Xavier has family roots which tie back to the founding of Townindale in 1789, under his ancestor, the famous actor and playwright, Donovan "Debonair" D'Arque.

In the perception of the public, Xavier is the dream candidate, with a progressive political agenda and a political reputation spanning back to his time as the beloved District Attorney of San Cristobal. During his time as District Attorney, he was credited with the elimination of the San Cristobal Mafia and the arrest of its leader, the infamous Teo Bonafacio. In front of the cameras, Xavier is happily married to his wife, Theresa, and enjoys a wholesome family life with his two children, Maximilien and Clémentine.

However, that is all a fabrication. In reality, Xavier D'Arque is a corrupt opportunist with an agenda to achieve a ruthless power grab for the sake of profit and prestige. Many of his feats as District Attorney, such as the elimination of the Mafia, came through shady dealings and other "alliances," alongside the utilization of the media to publically steal credit from others. Even his family life is a lie, as he rarely makes contact with his wife and children, preferring to pay them off to keep quiet in the public life while he pursues a lifestyle of vice. This includes philandering with young women of questionable age. His true persona is unknown to many except for the ones who he is closest to, however.

There is suspicion among some (Chaos) that his political career is the means to a much more nefarious goal, but this is yet to have been proven.
