Donovan "Debonair" D'Arque III is the enigmatic undead founder, performer, and former owner of the Gauzy Girl Theatre, which was established shortly after the foundation of Townindale was set-up in 1789 and mysteriously closed down in the early 20th century, following a long string of mysterious deaths of several of the performing staff. In the present day, Debonair D'Arque was recently resurrected from the dead by his descendant, Xavier D'Arque, and his trusty stagehand Goblin, Droll.

Operating from the shadows of the theatre, Debonair D'Arque serves as an advisor to Xavier D'Arque, in his pursuit to ascend to higher office and gain power over Republic Island. However, despite this alliance seemingly being mutual, there are elements of a power dynamic, with Debonair D'Arque acting more as a boss to his descendant, rather than a mentor. It can be theorized that Debonair D'Arque may have goals and ambitions of his own, beyond that of his descendant...
