Reject Idea Summary
So Valdez is a character from Keith's Scam the Gods webcomic, and he's hella dope. The biggest reason he's hella dope is because his world is a Crapsack World which encourages him and Esperanto to scam it. The Gods are explicitly not good guys, by-and-large because of their interference being majorly implied to be why the setting is so depressing and melancholy.
I also found I had a lot in common with Valdez, in that I am a guy who gradually got fed up with life and decided to rail against systems which have ultimately failed or abandoned me long ago. How I approach this is contrasted by the fact I actively despise con artists in real life, and recognize Valdez would be not that different from a few people who I once respected (Lily Orchard, The Completionist, etc) but no longer do.
For Wikihood, I wanted to make Valdez a god of secrets in the universe within. In two iterations of one character I regularly played, she worshiped a god of secrets in each. In Pathfinder, the god of choice was Norgorber, who was also a god of assassins. In Dungeons & Dragons, Vecna is the god of secrets and also of mages/liches. This culminated in my character wanting to become a Druidic lich, while taking up the occupation of assassin to get the funds/power necessary for this procedure. So, naturally, I fancied a third god of secrets even if the character who worshiped Valdez would be different (Garland Windsor, a scientist who is "Lex writing me (Garion) as a fictional character" in theory) for this exercise.
While I'm tempted to upon discussion with Keith, I have since decided "this probably still a nope idea but at least I can write about it somewhere."
