Vanhock is, well, Vanhock. Originally conceived by Will as a expendable third character, he rapidly evolved into playing only the crazy parts, stayed like that for a while, then solidified into the guy we know today. Do not bring him near caffeine, or he will turn into Mayonnaise Man, protector of justice! Surprisingly, his powers have nothing to do with Mayonnaise.
