{Fade to the Rebel Base Garage. Shane is leaning on Dan's Cruiser, while Dan is finishing loading up the supplies for the trip}

SHANE: So this Inventor guy... Does anyone know his real identity?

DAN: Yeah.

SHANE: Do you?

DAN: Yup.

SHANE: You're not gonna tell me, are you?

DAN: Nah. {Smiles at Shane}

SHANE: Of course not.

{The Inventor enters the garage just as Dan is loading the last box}

INVENTOR: Is everything ready?

DAN: {Loading the last of the stuff} Yup. All your supplies and tools are in there.

INVENTOR: Good. Make sure they're tied up good. They're very valuable.

DAN: No worries, man. I've got it covered.

INVENTOR: Okay then. Let's get moving, then.

{Dan gets in at the wheel as the Inventor walks over to the passenger side. Shane climbs in the back}

DAN: {Activating the Cruiser} Okay, Shane. Where is this village of yours?

SHANE: In the Denalt Plains. It's about 20 miles West of the city.

DAN: Ok. Then let's get moving.

{Dan switches the Cruiser into drive mode and presses a button on the console. The garage doors open and he drives out}

{Cut to the West Gate of Freedom City. Dan's Cruiser passes through and drives off toward the plains}

INVENTOR: How long ago did you say the grid was deactivated?

SHANE: About a month ago.

INVENTOR: Do you know how the zombies managed to take it out?

SHANE: I'm not sure exactly. We would need to talk to the Eternia Guardians about the details. All I know is it stopped working, and that I was sent to find you.

INVENTOR: I see. Well I'll start work on it as soon as we get there, and I'll see what I can do.

SHANE: Once again, sir, thank you.

INVENTOR: It is my pleasure and my duty to help you and your village.

{Cut to Eternia Village. Dan's Cruiser pulls right up to Shane's house. He parks the Cruiser and the three of them get out}

SHANE: This is my house. Come on in.

{Shane opens the door to his house and the three step inside. Cut to the inside of the house. It is a one room hut with a bed, a computer area, a kitchen area, and a bathroom area}

DAN: So you live here alone?

SHANE: {Hops on the bed and relaxes} Pretty sweet digs, right?

INVENTOR: What about your parents?

SHANE: My mom died a while back...

INVENTOR: Oh... I'm sorry.

SHANE: No it's cool. My dad, though, lives in the tower. He's one of the protectors of this village.

DAN: Did he send you out to Freedom City?

SHANE: Yeah. In fact we should go let him know we're here.

DAN: Good idea.

{Cut to outside Eternia Tower. Two guards stand at the doors to the tower. The trio walk up to the guards}

GUARD: Halt. What business do you have here?

SHANE: {Stepping forward} Guys, I have returned with The Inventor.

{The guards straighten up at the sight of Shane and salute him}

GUARD: I see, Master Shane. You three may pass.

SHANE: Thanks guys. At ease.

{The trio walks through the doors led by Shane. They pass through the Main Chamber of the tower to the Guardian Chambers}

SHANE: This is where we'll find my dad.

{In the Guardian Chamber are many beds and a large round table in the center of the room. 7 men and 3 women sit at the table. Shane walks with the others to the table. One of the male guardians stands}

GUARDIAN: Shane! I'm so glad you've returned. You were gone so long.

SHANE: Sorry, father. I had a little run in with a few zombies, but this man saved me {indicating Dan}. Dan, this is my father Leo. Dad, this is Dan.

LEO: Nice to meet you, Dan. Thank you for rescuing my son.

DAN: It was my pleasure.

SHANE: And this {indicating The Inventor} is The Inventor.

{Everyone at the table turns to The Inventor in awe}

LEO: It is an honor, Great Inventor.

INVENTOR: Thank you.

LEO: You three have come a long way from Freedom City. Why don't you rest and come back here tomorrow?

SHANE: Thank you, father.

{Cut to outside the tower. The trio walks out}

SHANE: There isn't enough room at my house for all three of us, so we can sleep at the Inn in town. It's the building across from my house.

DAN: Sounds fine to me.

{Fade to black}
