Ryan's Review Show of Reviewness/1
RYAN: Hello, Wiki City!
FENRI: And welcome to...
BOTH: Ryan and Fenri's Review Show of Reviewness!
RYAN: You like Megaman and Bass?
FENRI: Good game, right?
RYAN: Wish for a sequel?
FENRI: Well your gonna wish you didn't. It's time to review...
BOTH: Rockman and Forte: Mirai Kara no Chousen Sha!
FENRI: Or "Rockman and Forte: Challenger from the Future."
RYAN: So...anyway, there's a story behind this game. Bandai apparently worked on this with Capcom's permission, and ported this to their Wonderswan system. Well, the game itself was Japan only, but despite the success of Megaman and Bass, it's "sequel" wasn't as good as the first.
FENRI: So...anyway, one thing about this is the sprites. I'm impressed they were able to make them decent, but the animation is all clunky. But Bandai managed to keep all of the distinguishing features of Megaman and Bass. Bass still can shoot directionally, and Megaman can still charge shots.
RYAN: Another thing I noticed was instead of using completely new tracks, Bandai decided to just reuse the original MM&B soundtrack! Konro Man's stage has Ground Man's music, Komuso Man has Tengu Man's music, Clock Men managed to steal Astro Man's music, Compass Man has Pirate Man's music, Aircon Man has Cold Man's music, Dangan Man has Dynamo Man's music, and R-Shadow has King's music.
FENRI: I know, lazy, right?
RYAN: Yes. Well, I couldn't really understand what the hell they were saying, but I was just in it for the gameplay. So anyway, the storyline of this is that R-Shadow, some kinda prototype Quint, has attacked a city with his robots referred to as the Dimensions.
FENRI: And Megaman and Bass have to own them. Nuff said.
RYAN: So throughout the game, Megaman and Bass fight a stove, an air conditioner, a bullet guy, a ninja, two clock guys, and a Swordman ripoff, and they fight R-Shadow himself.
FENRI: Also, what sucks is that you get all these cool weapons, but you really only need two to fight the bosses with ease. You just get the Flame Shower and Barrier Wind and you're good to go.
RYAN: And in the end of it, R-Shadow says some stuff, and then dies. Sad ain't it?
FENRI: Then through the credits, you're treated with some pictures, and the final ending pic has Dr. Light and the rest of the good guys, and a helmetless R-Shadow. Wait...I THOUGHT HE WAS DEAD!
RYAN: Maybe he got revived by Light.
FENRI: Who knows? Anyway, this game was ok. It's not bad, but not good either.
RYAN: Average.
FENRI: So...see you all!
RYAN: G'bye!
