I'm gonna save you two hours of your life; NEVER play this game. Read the book series, if anything.
Women's Murder Club is a wonderful series of books written by James Patterson. The book itself was gripping and interesting. That is why it was so disappointing when I found out that it was butchered and chopped into a poor excuse for a video game. Actually, make that a video activity, because, as Strong Bad once said, "...the work 'game' implies fun and enjoyment."
First of all, the game itself is childish at best. The music used in game was repeated to the point of monotony. Even as I write this, the hideously overused background music echoes in my head. As well, there is the ridiculous feature of the 'uncluttering' the crime scene. What is that? Why, that's merely removing objects resembling symbols. And even when you find the symbols, you may to tap them twenty times for the game to recognize it!
Next, the plot is confusingly scattered. The characters are underused, overly juiced to the point where they're boring, or are just plain ridiculous. Even once everything is explained to you at the end, you still come out completely confused as to what you just played. I played it through multiple times, and I still couldn't tell you the plot until I read the book itself.
The worst thing about this train wreck of the game is the layout. The game is too linear and boring, and can be finished in as little as TWO HOURS. And I'm not even exaggerating. In my last play through, it took me no more than two hours to complete. And the only parts you get to do something interactive is two points in the coroner's office. It's as if they picked bad ideas out of a hat, and conglomerated them into a poorly made 'plot'.
In the end, if you want this game, go to Barnes and Noble, and buy the actual books. You'll get more enjoyment and interactivity with it.
