Of Mechs and Men/1

January 13th, 20XX. Abel City, Japan. Two humanoids in gas masks are escaping from a crash scene, carrying bags of cash, as a wrecked armored van lies in the background. The criminals jack a car off a woman, and begin to drive away. An ACPD squad car soons pursues.

There are two people in the squad car, a young woman, with long red hair to her shoulders, and an older man, with short, black hair, cropped evenly, who is driving. Both are wearing ACPD uniforms, as they chase after. The woman speaks first. Her name is Yui Nakano. She turns over to her partner as she speaks.

"How many of them are there?"

The male speaks next. His name is Tarou Mori.

"Two. They're wearing gas masks. No clue if they're humans or RMs."

"Right, let's ju-"

Before Yui can speak, shots are fired from in front of them. Yui pulls out her piece from her boot, returning fire. One of her shots smashes through the back glass, killing the driver. Red blood flies onto the windshield, as the car goes out of control, smashing off a rail of the freeway they are on into a tree. They begin to drive closer, when large crescent shaped blades begin flying at them. One of them flies forward, decapitating Tarou. Yui begins panicking, and grabs the radio.

"Dispatch, dispatch! It's an RM! I repeat, it's an RM! Call backu-"

Before she can finish her sentence, a blade flies forward, decapitating her. The remaining criminal gets out of his car, revealing crescent blades attached to his wrists, and several circuits attached to them leading up to his shoulders. Cutman pulls out a small battery, plugs it into his finger tips, and then absorbs the electricity. He then walks away from the crash scene, escaping.

This was five months ago. The date is June 17th, 20XX.
