Nicoleta Vasile Lupei, formerly known as Ventin, is the leader of the Vanatori, a group of 'blues', or bounty hunters, who illegally capture and turn in criminals, and are rewarded by the victims of these criminals or their families.
Four years ago, in 2039, Nicoleta and her brother Toma moved to Midway, Listless, USA. There, her brother was killed in a drive-by shooting. She sought after his killer, but was never able to find him, instead, capturing and maiming one of the criminal's associates. She found that she had a knack for tracking down criminals and became a 'blue', or a bounty hunter, called because of the 'reds', the police force of Midway who wear maroon-red uniforms.
Nicoleta is the leader of Vanatori and is quite dangerous with a pistol, but her emotions can get over her. She no longer practices blood magic, due to her brother's loss.
