Lucian's Stupid Smash Bros. Concept/Naegi
The Ultimate Hopeful Newcomer
Description
Makoto Naegi was drawn into Hope’s Peak Academy via a lottery, making him the Ultimate Lucky Student. However, throughout the course of his experiences there, during the High School Life of Mutual Killing, he slowly evolved into a prominent investigator, and his undying will to fight despair earned him the title of “Ultimate Hope”.
In Super Smash Bros., Naegi has a special mechanic of his own. Next to his portrait would be a revolver barrel loaded with “Truth Bullets.” He can load up to four at a time. He gains Truth Bullets during fighting, and his down special, with different actions giving different rates of increase. While he is a decent fighter on the ground, much like Little Mac, Naegi is terrible at aerial combat.
Special Moves
- STANDARD: Truth Vulcan - Naegi fires one of his Truth Bullets. Tapping the button fires one, holding it fires all of the ones he has stored. While the latter option is powerful, depending on the opponent’s damage, you might want to use just one.
- SIDE: Bullet-Time Battle - Naegi strikes the opponent in front of him and they freeze for a bit. A blue circle appears with smaller blue circles on it passing towards a larger one. When the circles hit the center, the player must tap A at the right time to do damage. The better the rhythm, the stronger the attack.
- UP: Truth Jump - Similar to the Wario Waft, Naegi shoots straight up by firing his Truth Bullets towards the ground. The more ammo he has, the farther he launches. A single launch consumes all of his ammo, and having no ammo before performing it is sure to lead to trouble.
- DOWN: Deduction - Naegi begins to investigate the floor below him. this takes about five seconds and it leaves him wide open, but the reward is one full Truth Bullet added to his ammo. It's best used after a KO or when there's no one near you on a large stage.
Final Smash: The Ultimate Hope
Spectral images of Byakuya Togami, Aoi Asahina, Touko Fukawa, Yasahiro Hagakure, and Kyouko Kirigiri appear behind Naegi as he performs a pointing forward pose. From behind, a large 2D image of a glowing gold bullet flies forward across the stage, doing high damage and knockback to whoever it touches.
