  • Conch Shells - Golden Conch Shells are used to learn new moves from The Poopsmith.
  • Unidentifiable Glowing Energy Orbs - Collect these to regain lost health.
  • Batteries - Finding five of these will add a new unit to your health bar.

Section Four: The Story

On one peaceful day in Challenge city, Jaro and his friends are lounging around watching tv, when suddenly a news report comes on TV of a giant metallic ball of junk appearing downtown near city hall. With nothing better to do, our heros drive down to investigate. Before you do, The Poopsmith appears reminding you to call him (B + R) when they get there.

Getting to City Hall:

Before you arrive at City Hall, you are left outside of your house to wander around and figure out the basic control scheme. There are no enemies to fight and no ways to die. There are three crates with pictures of each character on them. Breaking the crate with those characters will unlock your Y-moves. Once you have done that, you can advance to City Hall.

When arriving at the scene, they are shocked to find how big the thing is, and nobody seems to know where it came from. Crossing police barriers, the pals are suddenly sucked in through a hole in the side of the ball. You arrive inside in a large open room, and the game begins.

Section Five: The Game

Overworld

Inside the ball, call the Poopsmith. He'll tell you that he has poor reception, but he can give you some upgraded moves for every ten Golden Conch Shells you collect. Some people may think this is a dumb game mechanic, but some people are wrong.

Now go to your left. A conveyor belt is running very quickly, and on the other side of the narrow passage is a golden slice of pizza. Switch to Grundy, then use Y to run across the belt. Collect the slice of pizza, then return the way you came.

Later on, you can come back to this area with Chorch's upgraded hover move and get an extra life up towards the ceiling.

Now use Chorch's floating ability to fly up towards the ceiling. In the middle of the room is a floating platform. Stand on it, and it will jetosin you through a hole in the roof.

In the new area, go to the right and use Jaro's jump to get across the gap. Finally, place the pizza slice in a triangle-shaped indention in the wall and the door to Level One will open. Turn and go to the door opposite the indention.

Level One: Pirate Peril

Wow! You're smack in the middle of a war between pirate ships! By the way, that's a completely original line, if you've seen it anywhere else you're a liar. You exit the cabin of the S.S. Deadweight to find yourself on the deck. There's places to explore and things to do, so let's be organized about this!

Enemies

  • Random Pirates - These eyepatched fiends are weilding swords, and they're not afraid to cut you down to size!
  • Parrots - Although weak, these guys are very annoying, and seem to show up in the worst moments.
  • The Crocs - Several vicious crocidiles swim around in the waters surrounding the ships, and would love nothing more than a helping of fresh chicken!

Pizza Slice Locations

In the Crow's Nest
Straight ahead from the entrance to the level is a long pole. Climb up it, and inside the crow's nest is a pirate. Talk to him, say "yes", and he will give you a slice of pizza.
All Washed Up
Climb down a rope to the right of the crow's nest and jump into the water. You will automatically switch to Grundy (the other two can't swim). Swim out a little bit until you find a floating crate. There is a pizza slice inside.
The First Deckhand
On the end of the ship there is a pirate clutching his belly. Talk to him and he'll tell you he's been on the stinkin ship for weeks, and will ask you for either

a) A burger b) A milkshake c) An adult magazine

See the Important Item Locations List below. Once you find what he wants, bring it back and he'll reward you with a Pizza Slice.
The Second Deckhand
Same as the last one, except this guy is heaving over the edge of the boat. He will ask for one of the two things the First Man didn't want. Bring it to him for a pizza slice.
The Third Deckhand
This one is a little trickier than the last two. On the second boat (accessed by jumping from the plank on the S.S. Deadweight to the next ship), climb up into their crow's nest to find a very bored deckhand. More often than not, he asks you for the adult magazine. However, the magazine is kept in the Captain's Quarter's, and he does not allow you to check out the magazine without a library card (?). Once you get the card from City Splendor, come back to check the magazine out from The Captain. Give it to the Deckhand for a pizza slice.
The Swabbie's Guard
In the second ship (known as Old Fisty), head to the inside to find the Swabbies rowing away. Their guard will not budge or let you talk to him. Show em who's boss! Attack him once with each character and send him running out like a pansy! The men being held captive will thank you and reward you with a slice.
The Missing Captain
Back on the S.S. Deadweight, go into the Captain's Quarters, which you find are empty. You won't find him until level five, The Body of the Beast. Finding him is covered in that section, and he will give you two pizza slices for each world. What a bargain!
Davy Jone's Locker
By this point, you've probably collected enough golden conch shells to be able to afford the Poopsmith's new move for Grundy. If you have, head over to Old Fisty and find Davy Jone's crying his eyes out on the front of the ship. He'll tell you that he's lost his favorite locker to the sea, and all his stuff was in there. So, dive in and swim out a bit until you arrive at a small island. You'll see the locker sitting on the shore, but you'll be ambushed by several tribe men in grass skirts. Fight them and take the locker back to Davy Jones, who will reward you with a pizza slice.
The Captain's Booty
Placed randomly around Old Fisty are Five Bags of The Captain's Booty. See the Important Item Locations below for their possible wearabouts. Once you find them all, return them to the Captain for the usual reward.
