Why Haruhi

Out of all the anime that Japan (or Nippon, for you otakus, of course, with a KAWAII DESUNE =^_________^=) has to offer, why Haruhi? It isn't the best. One Outs is better. I'm afraid to say it, but Code Geass is better. And puh-leez don't tell me you haven't seen any others, otherwise I'll just be depressed.
