The reason why I hardly use Steam
The majority of the games I own are on PS3, and as such, I'm usually on PSN much more than I am on Steam. If there were a way to play the PC versions of my multi-platform PS3 games (Fallout, Skyrim, Everything basically) without having to pay the full price all over again, I'd be on Steam much more.
