Kirk McQueen is a member of the Order of the White Duke who gives tactical guidance to numerous operatives across the globe. In the Phoenixshire chapter of the Order, who is known as the main computer whiz, mostly due to his technical skills, and the added benefit of being one of the only people in the centuries-old order with the knowledge on how to operate a computer in the first place.

In his team, Kirk also acts as the resident historian and analyst, able to use his extensive knowledge on many historical subjects to assist his peers when it comes to research matters, creating extensive databases of information on his computer that he is able to tap into at anytime he wants. With no fighting skills whatsoever, Kirk is one of the members of the order who usually stays behind in missions, providing support remotely. Other times however, when his presence is needed within a group, he is happy enough to tag along, provided he doesn't need to do any dirty work.

How he came to be part of the team is a story worth telling on its own. Being a rare example of someone who was recruited into the order instead of being born into it, Kirk was originally a just a guy leading an average life, making a meager living with a low paying job, and only just managing to get by. However, he also had a pastime hobby as a grey hat hacker, performing legally dubious actions on the internet to serve his own purposes. Whether it was breaking through security walls, or simply overzealous internet hacktivism, Kirk was a notorious and mysterious figure on the net for what he did.

Eventually, Kirk decided to dig into the operations of Byzantium, believing that a company with such a squeaky-clean reputation would obviously have something to hide. To his good fortune, he managed to find several pieces of incriminating information on the company, selling these secrets to other smaller companies for a profit. Eventually, they caught on to this and attempted to have him silenced for good. As they raided his home with government "permission", they found that his place had been emptied out completely. It turns out that the "company" that was buying the secrets just happened to be front organizations for The Order, and they promptly hired him to be their intelligence manager.

Being a total genius, Kirk is also completely up himself at times, having a cynical attitude towards everything that makes him a total joy at parties. A typical conspiracy theorist, Kirk is critical of anything and everything, even the actions of The Order itself, which he deems "archaic". Despite this attitude however, he is loyal to the end. He frequently butts heads with his peers, especially Marshall, who he sees as a "bloody neckbiting bastard", due to the amount of arguments the two have gotten into. In reality though, the two are actually rather close, when you ignore the fact that they also want to kill each other most of the time.

When Kirk isn't working or researching something, he's usually playing some kind of online game, especially this one particular one known as "Zharanakuva's Crystal III", where he consistently plays against another user, called "Vikare80".
