He was originally known as Mantcartman, until I realized I didn't like South Park all that much.

He was a Night Elf Warrior. The sole basis for this was to hang out with family. My family relished in playing World of Warcraft, but their taste in races and classes was sort of shocking. I like my Shamans and Druids, but unfortunately I picked a poor server for Horde characters. My server was Cenarion Circle, and I noticed it was a RP server. Not knowing that RP wasn't really huge on that server, I decided to write about a Night Elf.

One; he looked up to Illidan Stormrage as a hero. This was mostly because he saw good intentions, not realizing that the path to hell was chock full of them. It also excused the cliche quest lines where Regiparukia would willingly help awful people accomplish tasks, and even though gameplay mechanics sort of restricted me, I realized that he would make a solid Illidari. This only really worked in Burning Crusade; courtesy of guild members, I decided to roleplay the idea that Illidan Stormrage eventually became a Broken Pedestal of sorts for Regi, and he eventually moved on to Northrend.

Two; gameplay mechanics are a specific kind of law, or I might have accidentally created a Chaotic Neutral Warrior. He would still be hired by Alliance contractors (because PvP mechanics), and would still be around to do tasks which generally benefitted the safety of the world and universe around them (literally why he didn't default to Chaotic Evil). His wit wasn't dry at all, but given how intensive raids are, it would have to be quick. Intelligence was his lowest stat, as no Warrior gear ever buffed it as monumentally as Strength or Stamina. I was content with this; I could roleplay it as "average for a Night Elf" if need be.

Three; Regiparukia was a mistake. He wasn't supposed to be an Alliance "toon" (short-hand for played character) at all. My parents and paternal relatives wantonly decided to play Alliance, due to my mom's fixation with gnomes and the others not finding the Horde races all that appealing. I was disgusted by this. However, I never had a consistent Horde character due to server problems and initial hang-ups with playing the game independently (which I managed to eventually do at age 16, when I played Wrath of the Lich King and separated from a guild that my parents joined due to its repeated severance of itself and the fact most of the people my parents hung out with were genuinely unpleasant people whom eventually some of my family members cut ties with).

In fact, Regiparukia was so much of a mistake that when Cataclysm came, I simply exiled myself from the World of Warcraft fandom. Its community in general was, and still is, complete shit. Pick-up groups were toxic even on the Horde side of my server, and server migration costed money I could not afford. I also could not afford to keep my WoW subscription, so my self-imposed exile was welcomed right around August 2010. As much as I miss even my Alliance mistake, I still find that I was better off not continuing WoW after all.

Looking at Faction Swaps made me ponder how Regiparukia would've fared as a non-Illidari Troll Warrior, though.
