The remaining night was quiet and uneventful at Kali and Meg's house. Kali had made sure that all her things were back in place before falling back asleep.

Madison and Andy came to Danny's house an hour early, but they didn't wake up Sean. Instead, they headed out back after they had talked to Danny about the demon that had attacked him.

They turned the hose on outside and filled a large bucket full of icy water. Madison and Andy carried the bucket inside while Danny opened the doors for them, seeing as how his shoulder was still being very stubborn on getting healed. They headed downstairs into Sean's room, careful not to spill the water as they walked.

The three smirked upon reaching Sean's sleeping form. He was snoring very loudly, as usual, and his covers were sprawled over the floor, along with half of his belongings.

Madison lifted three fingers and began counting down. On zero, they dumped the bucket of ice water on the once sleeping form of Sean.

"HOLY GODS THAT'S COLD!!" he shouted, refraining himself from swearing. He shot up out of bed and wiped the water from his face. His long chestnut brown bangs were plastered to his face making him resemble a drowned rat. Danny was in tears from seeing Sean wake with such a start and Andy was practically rolling on the floor. Even Madison was full out laughing, despite her usual subtlety.

"That was so not funny, guys! You scared the shit outta me!!" he retorted and crossed his arms over his chest and pouted. 'I'll get my revenge on you guys....wait and see.....' he thought evilly, making himself smirk. He'd seen way too many movies. He added a mock mad scientist laugh out loud on accident, causing the others to stare at him, very worried for their safety. Oh yes, today was going to be very interesting.

Meg was still sleeping when Kali pulled out a hair tie and put her hair in a quick bun, leaving two strands of hair to frame her face.

She left a quick note telling Meg where she was going and a sandwich with a glass of water to save her from walking downstairs. After last night's episode, she was reluctant to leave without her, but yesterday Danny had said a voice, Saku or something, had said something to him too, so he couldn't be after just her.

She was going to close the door when the front door was slammed open. Kali cringed and Meg shot up in bed.

"What was that?" she asked nonchalantly.

"The She-devil returns." Kali murmured and quickly locked their door.

"What time is it?"

"It's nine thirty. I was going to go to Danny's, because we were supposed to go see this Spirit person, but there's no way I'm gonna leave you with her all day. That'd be cruel and unusual punishment."

"I feel touched." Meg replied and rolled her eyes playfully. "After all, you're saying that you'll be staying here with me instead of seeing your precious Danny." Kali turned beet red.

"Now hold on a minute! I do not-"

"Where are you little brats?" Casey called from the bottom of the stairs.

Meg got up and got dressed while Kali barricaded the door with a chair. "Ya know what? We really need find a better strategy than 'hide until she passes out!'" Meg complained, pulling her shirt over her head.

"You got an idea?"

"No."

"Then hush so she doesn't hear-"Kali cringed again as their aunt banged on the door.

"Get out now! I need to have a talk with you two!" Meg and Kali turned off all the lights, hoping she would think they were asleep if she hadn't seen the light already. "Now!"

"Go out the window." Kali whispered. "I'll follow you."

"I can't climb trees, let alone scale the wall of this stupid house." Meg replied just as quietly. Casey broke the lock and stalked into the room swaying slightly on her feet.

"There you are. I was looking everywhere for you!" Kali swore that she almost sounded sincere. That was, until Casey punched her in the face. Kali fell down and rubbed her cheek thoughtfully.

"Ow..." Kali muttered. At least she hadn't bit her tongue this time.

"How many times have I told you not to lock the front door?"

"Never. You're always drunk or sleeping when we see you." Meg replied crossly. She helped Kali up, who was sending her a worried glance.

"Both of you should be grateful I'm letting you stay here! I told your father that that woman was trouble but he didn't listen, and now I'm helping you two brats now that they're gone." Her words slurred together making it hard to hear what she was saying.

Casey landed a sloppy it on Meg's temple and a stronger one in her stomach. Meg dodged the rest of Casey's flailing and used a quick move to the back of her neck to knock her out.

"Hey, Meg, you okay?" Kali asked. 'This is really getting old.'

"Just peachy," she replied, rubbing her stomach. "I vote we put her on the couch or something and find somewhere else to be for the rest of the day."

"Good idea. At least now you don't have to climb down through the window." Kali smirked and helped her sister up. "You sure you're okay? I'm not sure you should be on that foot quite yet."

"Yes! I'm fine! Gods, sometimes you go way too far into big sister mode." Meg complained.

"Well, how about you eat something and then we'll go hang out with Danny. I'm sure they won't mind the extra company. Besides, you hurt Andy's feelings when you ran off like that yesterday. He seemed to be struck by you" Kali teased.

"Whatever." Meg went over to the table and grabbed the sandwich and water, consuming both in a matter of seconds. Kali smiled and shook her head.

"You and Sean are so much alike it's scary."

"Just because I was hungry you say I'm like him? I strongly resent that." Meg replied as she brushed her hair and then proceeded to braid it.

"Do you have to take so long on your hair?" Kali asked, even though it had only been a couple minutes.

"Hey, I just want it out of my way. Besides, you take plenty long putting your hair in a bun." Meg finished and walked over to Kali.

"Ready?"

"Yeah. I guess." Meg muttered.

"C'mon then. Don't want to keep our dear Andy waiting, right Meg?"

"This teasing is really getting old!" Meg shouted and ran out behind her. Kali walked in the direction she'd seen Danny go the day before and walked down.

"Please tell me you at least know where he lives." Meg said.

"Well, I kinda knew, but then I forgot. Kinda." Kali laughed uneasily under her sister's murderous glares.

"Omae wo Korosu......" Meg threatened.

"You know you don't want to kill me, because then you'd be stuck with the She-devil on your own." Kali replied and jumped on top of the cement wall that lined the sidewalk. Meg followed her up, even though she didn't know what the house looked like.

"There it is! See, I told you I could find it!" Kali replied and began walking on the wall towards his house, just in case she was to get lost again.

"No you didn't....." Meg muttered, but trudged along beside her none the less.

"You got my sheets soaking wet!!!" Sean exclaimed. "Now what am I supposed to do?"

"Dry them?" Madison guessed sarcastically.

"How?!"

"In the dryer, you idiot!" Andy hit him playfully on the head.

"Let's get some breakfast, guys. I'm starved!" Danny headed back up the stairs. Sean perked up at the mention of food and ran up the stairs before anyone else had even moved.

"That kid's got a two track mind. One is constantly thinking of pranks to pull, even when he's asleep, and the other's constantly wondering what he's gonna eat next. I don't know how Danny could live with him." Andy shook his head and followed Madison upstairs.

"Please?!"

"No!"

"Pretty please?!"

"Absolutely NOT!"

"What's going on?" Madison asked.

"He won't let me cook!" Sean complained.

"He can't cook anything without burning it! Last time I let him cook, he nearly blew up the house!" Danny retorted and hit Sean on the head with the frying pan.

"OW! God! I live with an abusive brother! No fair!!" Sean rubbed his head.

"I'm with Danny on this, Sean. Why don't you pick what we eat instead?" Madison suggested. Sean brightened up immediately and began naming off every breakfast food he could remember.

"Eggs, bacon, definitely bacon, hash browns, French toast, pancakes-"

"Good lord! Pick three things and leave it at that!" Danny shouted.

"Okay, fine, spoil sport. Pancakes, bacon, and hash browns." Sean pouted.

Andy looked at the clock. "Shouldn't Kali be here by now? It's almost ten thirty."

"Maybe she slept in late." Madison said.

"Well, she'll just have to join us for breakfast, if mister cook will be so kind as to start cooking!" Sean said. Danny began cooking, but not without grumbling under his breath first. Sean brightened up when he heard a knock on the door.

"I'll get it!" He shouted and bounded to the door. "Hullo Kali!!" He saw Meg behind her and she waved slightly.

Andy came up behind him. "Well, let them in."

Sean glared at him. "I was letting them in." He looked back at them with his joker face on. "We're glad you could both make it! C'mon in!" He swept his arm back as they entered, purposely hitting Andy in the face.

"Watch it!" he grumbled.

"Breakfast will be done in a moment if you want some." Danny called over his shoulder.

"No thanks. We already ate." Kali declined and sat down. Meg followed her and watched her shoes for a while.

"What happened to your face, Kali?" Danny asked. He left his stove spot and walked over. "Your cheek is all red. What happened?"

Kali thought fast. "Well," she thought for a second, "I was waking up Meg because she was having another one of her nightmares and she hit me- "

"On accident," Meg cut in, catching onto her plan.

Andy brushed his thumb over Meg's head where she'd gotten hit and brought it back when she backed away a bit. "And I supposed that you got this from falling off your bed?" He showed her his thumb, which had a bit of blood on it.

"Um..." Both sisters looked at each other hoping the other had an idea. Andy sighed while Sean pushed Danny back to the food that was about to burn. The hash browns almost caught fire before Danny turned off the burner. Andy grabbed Meg's hand and pulled her towards the bathroom.

"I'll get your cut cleaned up. Madison, why don't you get some ice for Kali's cheek?" It was more of a statement than a question.

Madison got up to get some ice and Danny brought the nearly charred breakfast to the table. "So, what happened?" He asked. Madison gratefully took the ice and looked at her feet as though they could get her out of telling the truth.

Andy grabbed the first aid kit and got out the disinfectant. "Okay, so how'd you get cut on your head?"

"Uh, actually, you guessed right. I fell off the bed." Meg tried. She immediately felt stupid when he sighed and dabbed a cotton swab with the disinfectant.

"Try again."

"I fell down the stairs?"

"Closer. Try again."

"My aunt came home?" Meg muttered. Andy looked at her.

"Hang on; I think that might've been it. Say that again."

"My aunt came home." Meg muttered, only a bit louder than before.

"And that's bad because......." Andy cleaned her cut and found a bruise forming.

"She drinks a lot. She had left the night before to go to some clubs. She came back this morning." Meg didn't raise her voice any more than it was and focused her gaze to the corner of the bathroom.

"So she hit you?" Andy clarified.

"Yeah, basically. She's usually pretty easy to avoid though."

"Where did she hit you?"

"Just my head...and my ribs. She got Kali good across the face though."

"I'll take a look at it. I'm sure you wouldn't want to have a bruised rib and not know. It's painful, I'll tell you that." Andy pointed his tweezers holding the cotton swab for emphasis. "Just roll your shirt up a bit."

"How would you know if it would hurt or not?" Meg asked curiously, without trying to be rude.

"I've got two parents who fight every night, an older brother hooked on drugs, and two younger siblings that are only five. My brother has gotten on my case more than enough times for me to count." Andy explained. "He wasn't drunk or anything when he did it though. He's just a jerk."

Andy looked at the forming bruise on her abdomen and brushed a finger over it.

"Ow." Meg stated.

"Sorry. It looks like it's bruised. The most we can do is get some ice on it. It's not cracked or anything, but it'll still hurt for a bit. Now, you may have eaten, but I'm starved." He grinned at her and they went back to the kitchen.

"What was with the whole, 'my sis had a nightmare' thing?" Sean asked with his mouth full of food. Madison gave him a look like a mother gives her child when he's misbehaving.

"Two reasons." Kali started. "One, we'd have to go to an orphanage because Aunt Casey is the only willing relative we had to take us in, and secondly, it's just not something you brag about."

"That sucks." Danny said, and poked his soggy pancakes around on his plate.

"I know! But you could always stay here with us. We don't have real parents either- Hey Danny, you gonna eat that?" Sean poked his fork at Danny's meal. Danny pushed it over to him. Seeing Sean inhale food like that would make any person lose their appetite, no matter how long they've been around each other. "But anyways, I'd say that today we just hang out to make everyone feel better."

Andy smirked. "You're just saying that because that new game you wanted finally came out today and you want to get there first."

"That's only half the reason. The other half is that if we're around Chris all day, I won't be able to pay you back for your wakeup call this morning."

"Well, I sure feel special now." Kali said and rolled her eyes.

"Usually, when you're going to get revenge on someone, you don't tell them when you're going to do it." Meg replied. Sean glared at her and mentally added her to his growing list of people to play pranks on.

"Then obviously, I'm not the type of person in the 'usual' category, not am I?"

"It would appear not."

"You know what? When you say it like that it's not nice!" Sean pouted and crossed his arms.

"Nice comeback." Meg grinned. It was so easy to get under his skin.

"Alright, children, "Kali said and poked them both on the nose, "Enough of your game of wits. You're going to end up ripping each other's throats out soon."

"You mean I'm not allowed to? Darn." Meg replied sarcastically. Madison stood up and grabbed her bag sitting by her chair.

"Come on, you guys. Let's just go and have some fun. It might be the last chance we get before those demons come back." Danny cleared the plates off the table with Andy helping him.

"Are we going to see Chris today?" Andy asked.

"Chris?" Kali didn't remembering hearing that meeting a 'Chris' was part of their day.

"Well, we've been calling her Spirit, but seeing as how they were able to track us down so easily even without our stones, we figured they must know where she is."

"Oh."

"Well, let's go then!!" Sean said, literally bouncing up and down. "C'mon! C'mon! C'mon!!!" Meg was about to yell at him but Andy beat her to it.

"If you yelled any louder you would wake the dead," Andy reprimanded him, "Everybody got their things?" Getting nods in confirmation, they headed out.

"Man, I am so hungry....." Sean dragged his feet and his stomach growled for emphasis. "Can we like, get something to eat?"

"It is almost one. Is everyone else hungry, too?" Madison asked looking up from her watch.

"Yes! They are all very, very hungry." Sean spoke up. "So, let's go get some food." He grabbed Danny and Madison's hands and dragged them along behind him.

"Hey!"

Sean turned to glare at the others. "Food. Now."

"I guess it would be safest if we followed him...." Kali said.

"Hn. Baka." Meg muttered. The two sisters talked quietly to each other in Japanese while Danny was busy trying to pry his hand out of Sean grip and Andy was just staring off into space.

"How can he always be so hungry anyways? It can't be normal." Meg asked.

"Beats me. Either way, it's better than being at home with the She- devil."

"Danny isn't having much luck getting his hand away from him and Sean looks hungry enough to just bite it off. Maybe you should help him."

"Why just me?"

"Because I'm not the one that likes him."

"Oh, and you and Andy just happen to cross glances every five seconds."

"Nani?" Meg cried, causing everyone to look at her. Glaring at Kali and turning beet red she fell back a bit so she was behind Kali.

"Sean, I swear to the Gods that if you don't let me go right now-"Danny was cut off by Sean.

"Would you two speak in bloody English!? You could be making fun of me and I wouldn't know it!" Sean yelled.

Kali laughed lightly and Meg snorted. "Of course we're making fun of you, baka."

"What does baka mean?" Andy snapped out of his daze.

"It means idiot." Meg shrugged. "Are we at this place you wanna eat yet, or did you just pick a random direction for us to walk in?"

"Random direction, of course, but it got us to a food place anyways!" Sean's happy demeanor was beginning to annoy Meg. So much happiness coming from one person was giving her a headache.

The group headed into I.H.O.P. for lunch. It was probably the only time any of them would actually see Sean use table manners ever again.

"That was a good lunch." Sean walked with his hands clasped behind his head. "See? Now everybody feels better, right?"

"Sure, Sean. We all feel great after you shoved pancakes down our throats." Andy mumbled.

"What was that? 'I like Meg'? Is that what you said?" Sean put a hand to his hear and leaned towards him. Andy blushed and shoved him away.

"You know I didn't say that!" Andy shoved his hands in his pockets and glared at Sean. Danny broke out laughing.

"Danny, you'd better shut up before your little crush gets out. Same for Sean, though I'm surprised M-" Sean clamped a hand over Andy's mouth and glared at him.

"That was so not funny, man." Sean glared at him harder until Andy bit his hand. "Yowie!!!"

"At least don't cover my nose so I can breathe!" Andy complained. "And what kind of word is 'yowie'?"

"The kind of word you use when you don't want to swear." Sean rubbed his hand. "What are you, a vampire?! You broke my skin!"

They walked back to Danny's house and parted on the way there. "See you guys tomorrow. We're going to see Chris, right? And finish the merging?" Madison called back.

"Yeah. We'll meet at Danny's, alright?" Andy waved back to Madison and turned to Kali and Meg. "Do you guys wanna stay at my place tonight in case your aunt is still.....unstable?"

Kali looked back towards their house and saw the light on in the kitchen. "That actually sounds like a good idea if it's not too much trouble."

"Not at all. I warn you, it won't be the cleanest house, but at least no one will bother you." they turned and began walking towards Andy's house, for once not being paranoid and watching their backs.
