An Unfortunate Pep Rally

Am I the only one who hates pep rallies? Watching everyone sit there and blindfully cheer on the football team, the basketball team, whatever sport was in season, that team. The music they play sucks too. It's just (c)rap with all the mentions of drugs and prostitutes cut out.

I turned my head to check the time and when I turned it back George was taking sips from my water bottle. Dammit that stuff's expensive.

The cheerleaders start spelling out S-U-B-U-R-B-A-I. God they couldn't even spell it right. “ia” becomes eeyah and “ai” becomes ay. It's not hard!

We decide to slink off because pep rallies are awful. We needed to escape the idiots anyway.

In the hallway we decide to watch Harold & Kumar on my iPod. A teacher was about to bust us but they kind of just leave us alone since we're smarter than most of them. I dunno if I've ever had a teacher I respect. Sure, I do the homework, but that's just because if I didn't I would just be like all those people sitting in the gym behind the doors.

“Oh hey my parents are gone, can I sleep at your house?” George asked.

“Yeah yeah, of course.” I said. George didn't even really have to ask.

“Ah, have fun boys.” Kerry said. Sometimes I felt like Kerry felt like she didn't fit in because she felt like the only girl, which she was. It can be alienating to be the only girl in a crowd of boys.

After school George and I skipped the bus so we could make a short stop at Blockbuster. I didn't feel like renting anything but George, uh, “rented” a copy of Animal Crossing for the GameCube.

We also decided to get some dinner.

“Where do you wanna go?” I asked.

“I dunno, somewhere cheap.” he replied.

“Wow! Are you actually going to pay for it?”

He flipped me the bird.

We decided to just go to McDonalds. The person at the counter was actually someone I recognize. She was in my algebra class. She wasn't very smart, typically only gets Bs, so I dunno why they let her work the register.

She gave me and George kind of a disgusted face. You could kind of see that she wished she was as smart as us.

Anyways, we bought our food and went on the way. We decided we could just eat it in my basement room.

When we got to the bedroom we both got in bed and decided to switch off on Animal Crossing.
