New page

Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition campaigns either tend to suck ass or be really good, with no in between. Obviously, it depends on who's Storytelling.

I had a plan for an Orc Mage in World of WarCraft. His name was Homer, and he would have used Frost magic. Homer would be one of those bog standard "doesn't fit in to normal society" types (I'm not capable of writing someone who would be a "normal person"), who eventually moves to Theramore to become a Mage. After an altercation with some of Theramore's Human citizens, and Jaina Proudmoore herself, Homer would try to be an apprentice of sorts.

World of WarCraft's shit storytelling would've invalidated him six ways to Sunday, and this is factoring before Mists of Pandaria ruining the theorycraft.

Homer would probably work as a challenge to make an Orc whose primary attributes were Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma. This would be in order to play with the way Orcs were characterized in fantasy novels. Gradually, I also felt motivated to give most fantasy writers as big of a middle finger as undeadly possible.

It's not terribly difficult to make "smart Orcs" or whatever so I could find an excuse to play as Homer the Orc Wizard somewhere, somehow, and just roll with it.
