I finally got around to tolerating Homestuck enough to quote it unironically. Mostly, because I kneww a chap on another community wwho wwouldn't shut UP about Eridan Ampora and howw "awwful" he wwas. So, said chap piqued my curiosity and noww I am wwarmin up to it. I do still prefer Swweet Bro and Hella Jeff ovver it, as wwell as Problem Sleuth.

Howwevver, I wwill be keepin in mind my ovverall ambivvalence towwards a chunk of it. It took me four days to get from Act 1 to Act 6 Intermission 3, so that's wwhy I wwas capable of marathonnin Homestuck. I also marathon Penny Arcade because sometimes they're hilarious. Anywway, I wwager you're probs busy or somefin, so I'll be sporadically here and there. Possibly finishin my RiffText stuff, as wwell as anyfin else I wwas partwway through afore I left last time. Yeah, it's worth noting that certain 3rd gens (mostly the ones that are mods) are ''almost'' second gens and while they don't have the same history around here to back them up they're just as experienced and can be considered part of the second generation. Shwoo, Bluebry, Nacho, Denzel, Skull bee, and perhaps Mr. 44 as well, are probably cool enough for us. Oh, and Spainish. But he sort of... snuck away. Also I don't remember when Spyrox and Chainsaw tree joined but they're good kids too.

In the United States, the '''SPOOK CLIFF''' was a simultaneous increase in tax rates and decrease of government spending through sequestration that would have occurred January 2013 through a series of previously enacted laws. The deficit—the amount by which government spending exceeds its revenue—was projected to be reduced by roughly half in 2013. The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) had estimated that the fiscal cliff would have likely led to a mild recession with higher unemployment in 2013, followed by strengthening in the labor market with increased economic growth.

Instead, the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012 (ATRA) largely eliminated the revenue side of the fiscal cliff by implementing a higher deficit and a smaller increase compared to the previously enacted laws. Adjustments to spending were expected to be resolved in early 2013. Intense debate and media coverage about the fiscal cliff drew widespread public attention during the end of 2012 because of its projected short-term fiscal and economic impact.

The previously enacted laws leading to the fiscal cliff had been projected to result in a 19.63% increase in revenue and 0.25% reduction in spending from fiscal years 2012 to 2013. Those laws included the expiration of the 2010 Tax Relief Act and planned spending cuts under the Budget Control Act of 2011. The former extended the Bush tax cuts for two years, while the latter was enacted as a compromise to resolve a dispute concerning the public debt ceiling and address the failure of the 111th Congress to pass a federal budget. Under the fiscal-cliff scenario, some major programs like Social Security, Medicaid, federal pay (including military pay and pensions) and veterans' benefits would have been exempted from the spending cuts. Discretionary spending for federal agencies and cabinet departments would have been reduced through broad cuts referred to as budget sequestration.

ATRA eliminated much of the tax side of the fiscal cliff while the reduction in spending due to budget sequestration was delayed for two months. Due to this act's passage, the CBO projected a 8.13% increase in revenue and 1.15% increase in spending for fiscal year 2013. The act resulted in a projected $157 billion decline in the 2013 deficit relative to 2012, rather than the sharp $487 billion decrease projected under the fiscal cliff.

The raise in revenue contained in the act came from: increased marginal income and capital gains tax rates relative to their 2012 levels for annual income over $400,000 ($450,000 for couples); a phase-out of certain tax deductions and credits for those with incomes over $250,000 ($300,000 for couples); an increase in estate taxes relative to 2012 levels on estates over $5 million; and expiration of payroll tax cuts (a 2% increase for most taxpayers earning under approximately $110,000). None of these changes would expire.

Around 2 am EST on January 1, 2013, the U.S. Senate passed this compromise bill by a margin of 89–8. At about 11 pm that evening, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the same legislation without amendments by a vote of 257–167. However, the budget sequestration was only delayed and the debt ceiling was not changed, leading to further debate during early 2013.

I must say I'm surprised at the large number of logos people are creating. I've gone and added 6 new logos to the rotation; that's not to say that the other logos are complete crap and will never be used, but these are the ones that stood out to me. The new logos are:
# TheDenzel's video game logo

# Nalos' duck logo

And now for some comments on some other logos:
# Mtp1997's logo was very close to being accepted, but the "your picture goes here" text screams "default font". If the font was changed to something different it would most likely be better.
# JCM's other logo wasn't chosen as TheDenzel has stated the he doesn't want his image in a logo. If this changes at any stage, the logo will have a better chance.
# Remember to keep to 150 x 150. TheDenzel's current The Cheat logo is slightly bigger than this and part of the logo is cut off as a result (if you want to fix this, Denzel, just stick the new version on this page)
# Sephiroth: fancy graphics and 'WUW' a good logo do not make. I was close to choosing your last logo, but I felt that Nalos did the whole rainbow thing a bit better.
# Skullbuggy's logo had a good idea but could be improved if it was somehow made more relevant to the WUW and if the yellow was made transparent (to account for any future background changes).
# TheDenzel's other logo was considered but I decided it was either that one or the video game one (the video game one won out). Maybe it could be fancied up or something, I don't know.
# Remember that it's always preferable to have "Wiki User Wiki" in full as opposed to "WUW" except where style allows in very exceptional cases (such as Nalos' MSpainty logos and TheDenzel's video game logo). It also seems like "A wiki for the users!" has become the de facto motto for the wiki so feel free to use that.
# I'm going to go through the logo rotation at some stage and make sure they all have borders where appropriate: generally a border makes the logo look way better, so stick borders on any future logos so I don't have to do it. Of course, if you think it looks fine without the border, that's okay too: if I think it needs a border I'll just cram it on later.

So after being prompted by JCM for the second time I could no longer ignore his constant presence. Rather than doing something boring such as, say, uploading some new logos, I decided to create some sort of [[Special:Logo|futuristic logo viewer]]. Right now it's really basic and just shows you each logo along with some information but I'm hoping to expand it a bit, mostly so I can upload new logos easier. Anyway I've added three new logos, being TheDenzel's textual logo, Ninjaduck's The Cheat logo and Y2K's stop sign logo. Others I were close to choosing were:
# TheCheese's logo. Was leaning towards "yes" but then realised "what was I thinking" and leant back towards "no". Maybe public opinion could sway me back.
# JCM's Disney logo. It's off center but if you fix that there's a chance it could be used.
# JCM's pencil logo. I was going to use it until I realised how crap the pencil looks.
# Other logos that deserve mention are Ninjaduck's second logo, TheStick's logo and Im a bell's logo. I just felt something was missing from these three but couldn't quite put my finger on it.

:It's not in the center. There's more blue space to the left than to the right. I noticed that, when I use Avant instead of Firefox, each time I mouse over the logo a new one loads in place of it, and another one again when I mouse out.
